You have just graduated from the college of your choice, the school that just sent you up for a great internship. The corporation just offered you a job, and just before you take it, they reveal that they withdraw their hiring of you because of dissatisfying photos from your past. You head back home shocked and cannot believe why this has happened. You then check your Facebook again, whether a frequent user or have not logged in for years, to see if these photos were posted on the site. You find that they are, and to lose a major job over this is heartbreaking. This is what can happen if one is not careful on Facebook. Many people post many things all over Facebook, from photos to videos and statuses. Sometimes, at a young age, teenagers can be very naïve and not be aware of what Facebook can do. They will post very explicit photos and even videos, not realising the future repercutions of this. Before every action on Facebook, this is what one should consult; whether or not the photo, status, or video can come back to haunt them.
High school is a very special time for one, especially last years with old friends, partying, and acting mischevious. Although these things are vey common, and is not accepted as how high school “is,” one does not need to document their lives to millions of people all over the internet. People also tend to be very volatile and cruel on Facebook. Examples of these are hate groups, viscious relationship problems (such as friending a person that one’s significant other is not fond of or posting a misinterpreted post), and even cyberbullying, which is now running rampant throughout the internet. With all of thes ideas in mind, Facebook can be a great tool of socializing with others, but it can also ruin a rare oppurtunity in life, or even cyberbullying can cause one to take their life.

I agree with the problems you have presented about people who misuse Facebook. Many could be affected by their decisions of doing negative things on the website. The scenario you posted about getting n internship after college and losing it all do to improper social networking is very interesting and in fact true. I believe maybe you went a little too in depth about viscous relationship problems i haven't seen much of that when using the site but since your girlfriend is crazy i can kind of understand where your coming from. I believe on Facebook though cyberbullying can be a problem you often see Facebook fights on random pictures and such which is silly and immature but indeed does happen. They will post very explicit photos and even videos, not realising the future repercutions of this. You have a great point Aaron; the photos that some people put on facebook can be quite damaging to your chances at a respectable job opportunity. I mean, what preschool would hire you as a teacher after they check your facebook profile and the first thing they are greeting with is a photo of you saying something "gangsta" and pegging double middle fingers at the screen. I've seen some pretty terrible facebook photos that could ruin someone once they try to pass themselves off as a "respectable adult". You're correct in your statement that facebook is a great tool for keeping in touch with others and enhancing friendships, but it is so frequently abused that it leaves some people to wonder whether or not the tool is being used mostly by those who would use it correctly, or if a majority of the users are abusing it for their own personal reasons.
